large hard lump on ring finger. sore when knocked.after 2years the finger stiffens up when inactive. have to open &close hand 2relieve pain. any idea?

Painful lump: It sounds like you may have osteoarthritis of that joint. Without more information and an exam, it is difficult to say for sure.
