diagnosed preasthmatic because i cough too much at times. using inhaler stops it, but it can start again. coughs triggered by cold air, smoke, perfume?

Sounds about right: Not sure what the question is. There is a cough-variant asthma and it sounds like you have that and that it is triggered by cold air, smoke and perfume. If you are using the inhaler more than once a week to stop the coughing fits then you should see an allergy/asthma specialist for further evaluation and treatment.
