PPIs: The most common treatment for stomach ulcers is a proton pump inhibitor (ex. Omeprazole) they prevent your stomach from making too much acid, allowing your ulcer to heal. Some ulcers are caused by a bacteria and will need to be treated with antibiotics along with the ppi. Make an appointment with your doctor to determine the source of the ulcer and what treatment is best for you.

Gnawing pain/None: Interestingly, one can have a severe gnawing pain in the middle and upper stomach and some have no symptoms at all. Usually painful and will go away at times with use of antacids, Zantac (ranitidine) type drugs, Prilosec type drugs and food. If you are concerned about an ulcer, please see your pcp or GI doctor. There are tests to help find out and procedures to help diagnosis and heal. Cancer can cause it!

What would be the most effective remedy for cure stomach ulcer?

Dr. Trachella Johnson foy answered

PPI's and avoidance: Ulcers if bleeding can be treated if they are cauterized during endoscopy. But basic way to treat ulcer is with meds called ppi's- this is nexium, protonix, dexilant, (dexlansoprazole) prevacid, prilosec...Etc. This keeps the acid down and allows ulcer time to heal. Avoiding things that make ulcer worse also helps-like alcohol, nsaids or Aspirin or steroids or smoking etc. If assoc w h.Pylori-treating this helps.
