Multiple: By definition resistant high blood pressure requires multiple agents to control. These will be chosen based on any other conditions or complications that have developed but ultimately whatever it takes to get controlled.

Drug resist HTN?: It is almost never one drug. Indeed resistant HTN is defined as not at goal with 3 different BP drugs. One of which must be a diuretic. The most common cause is an adrenal problem caused primary aldosteronism. My definition is that one requires more that 5 different classes of meds. Minoxidil is one of my favorites. I try to use a combination of combinations i.e. pills that contain 2 diff meds.
