Wisdom teeth: having your wisdom teeth removed after braces is a very common thing to do. It will not ruin your straight teeth. It may help to keep your teeth straight by having the wisdom teeth removed.

Follow instructions.: Wear your post-braces exactly as prescribed. Go looking for reasons to wear them, not excuses to take them off. Wisdom teeth have high potential for damage of adjacent teeth, bone, and gums, and can contribute as much as 10% to instability. If recommended have wisdom teeth removed, wear your retainers, and you'll be fine.
