is it fine if an infant passes loose stool 3-4 times a day or sometimes more than that?

Loose stool: It is fine if the stool is not watery but just loose. Younger babies can have a bowel movement each time they eat. As long as the baby is urinating and not having any other symptoms, this is probably normal.
