Tongue soreness: A sore, lesion, ulcer or mass on the tongue can cause pain that is locatized or can be involving the entire side of the head or face. The tongue has nerves that refer (send a signal) to other parts of the head. If the ulcer/sore does not heal within 2 weeks, you should seek medical attention. The tongue has a great blood supply and heals well.
