Sounds like gas: Sounds like he has found his own position to pass gas. By pulling his legs up it helps relax his rectum and allows the gas to pass. Colic usually has excessive crying associated at about the same time every day

How is he behaving?: If he is eating okay and otherwise acting okay then it could be gas discomfort or he's just working on a bowel movement. If he's not eating and otherwise acting okay he needs urgent evaluation.

Probably, need info: It depends a lot on the baby's age as typical infantile colic, often called 3 months' colic usually is seen between 1-4 months of life. ALso if baby has additional symptoms of spitting up, it may suggest some discomfort from reflex, which is also quite common during early infancy.

Colic: By definition, colic is characterized by long periods of crying in otherwise healthy babies, and not due to a particular medical condition. Discomfort from gas pains doesn't really fit in this category. Over the counter gas drops such as Mylicon may help with gas pains. If formula fed, gas in babies may be due to a sensitivity to a particular component in the mixture, such as lactose (or other)
