Yes: Neurotransmitter imbalance is a main cause for anxiety and depression. Other causes can vary from thyroid to adrenal problems, MTHFR and genetic pre-dispositions, to diet and lifestyle including food sensitivities (such as gluten). Nutrient deficiencies are also a factor.
