Likely a URI: How long has this been going on? I'd get to a doctor so they can determine if this is something that needs antibiotics or otherwise intervention in some way. Any fever? They will want to know. Just go get checked out...

Sputum: The cause of the coloration of the mucous suggests that you may be having growth of a pigment producing bacteria like Pseudomonas in your upper respiratory tract. Hopefully you do not have other symptoms, since although rare, this organism can produce outpatient acquired lung infection. If you smoke, stop. If this continues make a list of all symptoms and see a doctor.

Green mucus: If you have had a head cold a week or so ago and are now coughing up significant amounts of discolored sputum, a bacterial bronchial infection is likely and a course of an appropriate antibiotic would be advisable. Contact your physician for instructions. In the meantime drink adequate fluids and take an expectorant cough syrup to continue to raise secretions.
