Likely correct: Depending on what, if any, testing your PCP did to come to his/her conclusion, the general characteristics you describe are not primarily cardiovascular. Musculoskeletal or less likely, gastrointestinal, causes may be the culprit. Not likely warranting a stress test, but for your anxiety, may be considered (though your insurance company may disagree...keep that in mind)
