Glad you asked: At the time of your period your female hormones are at there highest in order to get you body ready for a possible pregnancy. The glands in your breast are stimulated by the hormones and often make the breasts tender at the time. That should go away between periods. If it stays after your period you could be pregnant. If that is the case do a pregnancy test now and in a week. If no see ur OB.gyn
