Pigment cells: This is caused by pigmentbcells at the base of the nail and is common in african americans. The vitiliog is not conner ted but can be treated depending on the area, and size of the vitiigo. The lines do not require treatment. Removal would require surgery which is not recommended.

Vitiligo: Vitilgo is an auto immune disorder where your bodys immune cells attack the dark pigment cells in your skin. It coccurs in all kinds of people, but looks the worst in people with dark skin, since the vitiligostands out against the darker regular skin background.. There is no cure, and treatment is difficult. Darker spots on the skin is the opposite of vitiligo, and can occur from a burn or injury.

Difficult: Vitiligo is one of the hardest skin problems to treat; there is no definitive cure. But a dermatologist can run tests to determine if there is an underlying cause which is treatable. There are also some topical creams and local injections which are effective in some cases.
