What are symptoms of iron and vitamin b-12 deficiency?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Dan Fisher
26 years experience in Internal Medicine
Fatigue / numbness: Iron deficiency when prolonged produces anemia with small red blood cells which when severe can produce any symptom associated with low oxygen delivery to tissues. Generally you will see fatigue and exertional shortness of breath. B12 deficiency usually presents with loss of or altered sensation in the toes, but also produces a mild anemia with enlarged red blood cells.
