Why is the corsi block tapping test not used as a standard dementia test if it is a measure of hippocampus function?

It is sometimes, but: This test has been used in research w/ Alzheimer's and was successful identifying moderately impaired but not mild cases. That's why it's not widely used. By the time it shows problems, patients are already diagnosed. It is more useful in injuries and MS and other brain damage screenings. Okay?
