No: Not unless there is deeper involvement of tissues such as cellulitis, abcess, lymphangitis.

Yes: The infected areas are swollen and usually open/ blistered - and that swelling/ infection irritates the pain nerve receptors... The pain is usually best treated by #1 - treat the infection - topical / oral antibiotics, warm wet clean compresses can soothe, and tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain.
