Most important: is to find out possible cause of hair loss. Need to rule out thyroid disease, anemia and ferritin abnormalities. Need to look for scarring vs non scarring hair loss. Treatment may vary depending on cause. Supplements like Viviscal work well for non scarring hair loss, topical minoxidil 5%, but beyond that need to see dermatologist
