Depends on where...: Pain in the heel could be related to tightness in the calf causing planter fasciitis. Pain up in the ball of your foot is more likely related to metatarsalgia which often has to do with poor shoe wear choices. Have your foot evaluated by a podiatrist or a orthopedic foot specialist.

Lots of things: There are lots of things that can cause the bottom of your foot to hurt. I would start off looking for the obvious - signs of a splinter or glass, redness (which could be from infection), swelling in the joints. Does it hurt all the time or only when you put wt on it? How long has it been hurting? Do you remember what may have caused it to hurt? Were you running? See your MD for a foot exam!
