Likely allergic!: I highly recommend taking Benadry, two tablets, to help reduce the itching and discomfort. If you develop any facial/mouth swelling or difficulty breathing, then you have to call 911 for help. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) takes roughly 30 minutes to work. Then you need to see an allergist for testing to determine your specific food allergies. Hope this helps.

Most Likely Allergy: See your allergist to test you for shellfish allergy. You also need an Epi-pen. If symptoms become severe call 911 and go to ER.

Allergic Reaction: Looks like an allergic reaction to shell fish, which should be avoided from now on. In the meantime you should consult your doctor ASAP to get tested to document what other foods and environmental agents you may be allergic to and get yourself some medication to relieve your symptoms including Epi Pen for any severe reaction. Blood test is easier first step before more skin testing by allergist.

You can repeat the benadryl in an hour if that is not enough, but if one does it then good, less sleepy. No more than 2 every 6 hours though. Hot showers or environments or tight clothes will make you itch even worse! Keep cool.

For now take benadryl for itching, may need to take it up to 3 days till reaction settles down. If lip or tongue swelling, shortness or breath, or anything else scary call 911.
