Yes but: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) does cause sleepiness, and is found in many over-the-counter sleeping pills. Used here and there, now and then, it is fine for many but not all people. If used regularly, it loses its ability to improve sleep. It does cause daytime sleepiness into the next day.
