Being sick: When you are sick, there is inflammation that makes you feel tired, weak, and can even affect the appetite. Give yourself some rest, get over the sickness, and see how that makes you feel.

Many possibilities.: There are innumerable medical, nutritional and emotional conditions that include being tired as a symptom. These range from simple issues to those far more complex. A good checkup and blood testing would be a good starting point.

A lot : If you only sleep a few hours when you need 8 you will feel exhausted all day and probably have trouble functioning, the older you are the worse it is tolerated. The closer to 8 hours you slept the better the lack of sleep is tolerated and the better the function both at a job or school and in social situations and at home.
