Lyme & herbals: Lyme disease can be an awful affliction. Hopefully u have a doctor who will help u through all this. While I personally & professionally advocate a medical approach to treating Lyme, there is an 'alternative universe' that advocates herbal & other therapies for treatment. I don't agree with those at all & I worry you're putting yourself in danger following them. Hope you will feel better.

Yes: And make U sick: Not only do lone star ticks transmit lyme disease, they do so faster than other ticks, according to stuff that I have read. I learned that ticks usually must be attached for at least 24 hours before there is risk of getting lyme, but not so for the lone star tick...In less than 24 hours of attachment you could get iinfected. The white spot on the tick is easy to see, so get to your md quickly.

How long can you have dormant Lyme disease for?

Dr. Randy Baker

Many years: I have had patients who, based on their history, were likely exposed to lyme many years prior to becoming symptomatic, with their symptoms coming on after an injury or other major stress to their system. Once someone seems to have recovered from lyme, symptoms may also recur several years later if they are subjected to great physical or emotional stress, suggesting it was dormant for many years.

Infectious disease : One of medicine sub specialties is infectious disease. You can search for this via web, or phone your nearby hospital to check staff representation, check county medical society. Then phone that doctor’s office and speak with the doctor (not secretary) to insure that the doc will provide testing and treatment. Good luck
