Pain in thumb C6: There's an entity called a C6 radiculopathy which may explain the isolated pain to that digit as well as numbness. Also, something called TENOSYNOVITIS could explain the thumb. If not, consider them

Thanks for the additional info. but I still maintain that no matter how much you may be typing for your (wonderful) chosen profession--- I used to have a 7-12 certificate before med school- I still don't see bilateral CTS in you as highly likely. Get a firm diagnosis by a neurologist because otherwise, unnecessary surgical treatments may eventually be recommended. Cheers to you & the munchkins!

Yes: There is truly a lot of variables in this question - i.e. How much does the child use a pacy of suck their thumb per day, but for the most part these habits are devastating to teeth. Not only do I see this every day in my office, but I have a child who sucks her thumb and see the devastation to her teeth every day.

Carpal tunnel: Your symptoms could indicate carpal tunnel. If you do alot of typing, writing or anything that entails alot of wrist/ elbow movement then it is a possibility. You can try to use wrist brace and see if that helps. These days xbox, ps3, txt msging on small phone screens can all cause it..
