Sleep: Reduce or eliminate caffeine and alcohol. Sleep in a dark room without TV or computer or other sounds. Consistent bedtime and wake time. Control your stress.
No pets on your bed. Consult with a sleep specialist

See your MD: Wow, that's a long time without sleep. Get a ride (don't drive) to your md to try to determine why this is happening. Also, have good sleep hygiene, such as establishing a bedtime schedule, avoiding alchohol, excess food or exercise prior to bed, etc.

Sleep hygiene: First practice sleep hygiene (type term in browser for details). Take melatonin two hours before desired sleep time. Purchase and faithfully wear blue-blocker sunglasses to block stimulation of the ganglion cells of the retina which, in bright light (such as in front of a computer like I am now) send a message to the brain that it is not time to sleep. No caffeine and no alcohol.

Sleep disorder: May result from multiple causes. Get a complete exam and establish a sleep routine( early bedtime, early rising) Diet, exercise, mediation, relaxation response, deep breathing, image conditioning. See a sleep expert only after the physical exam has been performed.
