Dry Scalp: remedies: Hi one of the dermatology tricks for this outside of prescription medicine is to use one of the branded medicated shampoos on the market. I would advise against using them daily but once or twice a week to maintain better scalp health can really make a difference. Hope this helps.

Dry scalp: Avoid sulfate shampoos. Limit you scalp's exposure to hot water. You can get over the counter shampoo for dry scalp. Minimize blow- drying. Keep hydrated.

Such treatments include nizoral, (ketoconazole) head and shoulders, and selsun blue. Tar shampoos and corticosteroids can be used as well. This condition rarely results in hair loss. Treating the dandruff, usually clears the dry scalp. One can use scalp oils.
