Likely not unusual: It is normal see visible pulsation in young thin built people. Don't worry about it. It should not hurt and the hardness is likely the firm feel of the pulse. Have a doctor check and feel to make sure there is no tumor or mass above the aorta that can suddenly appear as more prominent pulsation with pain and hardness.
