Not normal, but..: It's not normal, but it can happen on occasion. If the hormones are off, the lining of the uterus may slough a little. If it's happening every month, you need to be evaluated by your GYN.

A 26-year-old female asked:
Is spotting normal during ovulation in a virgin?

Yes: Some women will spot for a few hours to a few days at the time of ovulation. This occurs because of the rapid hormone changes at this time. Being a virgin doesn't affect whether or not there is spotting during ovulation.
