Yes, Yes: If your period usually lasts 5-6 days then the week after your period would be day 7-14 of cycle. Women with 28 day cycles ovulate on day 14. Sperm can live in good mucus for up to a week. If you have intercourse on day 9 and ovulate on day 14 it is possible to conceive. The egg only lives about 12 hours. The day after you ovulate the chance to get pregnant goes way down.

No if you have 28 pe: No, not if you have a regular 28 day cycle the ovulation would have occurred on the 14 th day +_1 day, and the next few days to the 28 th day is considerably safe .The last 14 days after ovulation is said to be more constant than the first 14 days and these last days are considered safe period but you have to know your body very well and that your menses is every 28 days for this to work.

Possibly: Especially if you have a short menstrual cycle.
Dr. Peter Baumann

Possibly: If your menses last 5 days and you have unprotected intercourse 7 days later, i.e., on day 12 of your cycle there is a good chance that you are getting pregnant.
Dr. Jeff Livingston
Obstetrics and Gynecology 22 years experience
Sure: Anyone having intercourse without birth control or condoms may get pregnant. Having sex around the time of ovulation is the most efficient way. Having sex at other times in the cycle is lower risk but one never knows exactly when ovulation will occur.

Ovulation: Yes. Of course. Ovulation, the release of a new egg happens just shy of half way through your cycle. The sperm left in the vagina on any of the five days leading up to ovulation can cause pregnancy.
