Rhomboid and: levator scapulae muscle spasm is known to do the same thing with localized sharp back pain radiating to the front under the collarbone. Try warm compresses and firm massage on that side of back. Usually resolves so long as you are not experiencing breathlessness. If you are proceed to the ED for a chest xray to eliminate a pneumothorax or pulmonary embolus.
