CDH: Chronic daily headache. Headache is a common disorder and represents a major health problem around the world. Daily headaches that last less than 4 hours are classified as short duration (e.g., chronic cluster, cph); daily headaches lasting more than 4 hours are classified as long duration and the term cdh. Rec. See headache or orofacial pain specialist for evaluation.

Need to evaluate: Agree with Dr Grin regarding pinning down headache characteristics, as some different patterns will respond to different preventative meds. Generically, many prescription preps such as propanalol, Depakote, Topamax, (topiramate) diltiazem, but many OTC items such as riboflavin, butterbur, magnesium. Your doctor can design an appropriate preventative program.
