does any one know what strength sporanox (itraconazole) comes in to get rid of ringworm of the scalp?

Dr. Ralph Morgan Lewis

Depends on…: Age of the patient, condition of liver function, other meds being taken. Preferred treatment for tinea capitis (scalp ringworm) is griseofulvin, although sporonox has shown effectiveness as well. Since topical antifungals are usually ineffective, it's best to see your fp for treatment. Fp may want to check liver function before starting one of these potent meds. Count on 4-6 weeks treatment.

No: Use loose cotton undergarments. Keep area dry as much as possible. Take your treatment as recommended. No need to change bedding every day otherwise.
