A 30-year-old female asked:

2 days ago my nipples became very sensitive. I don't remember wearing something that would have irritated them. What else could cause this besides PMS?

Hormonal changes: All women experience sensitive and sore nipples from time to time but most of the causes are hormonal changes: pregnancy, PMS, hormone replacement, menopause, ill-fitting bra, poor suckling by the baby and breast cancer. Please have your PCP check you out.
