just met 30 year old mom of 2 who fell, said xray saw crack above right ankle. told it was growth plate. can growth plates still be open at her age?

Not a growth plate: A 30 year old woman will not have growth plates open. IF she has pain, swelling, tenderness and an abnormal xray, she should seek another opinion to determine if she has a fracture or other injury that needs treatment.
