Drinking alcohol...: ...is not a necessity for life. If it bothers you, why drink it? However, if you must, there are many alternative beverages to choose when going out. Truly good friends won't think less of you if you drink less.

Nausea: The nausea may be related to stomach lining damage, or gastritis. Some people are more sensitive to the alcohol related damage than others. Stopping the use of alcohol may reverse the process. But ulcers and gastritis from other foods, nicotine, stress is also possible. See your doctor for testing and medication if the nausea continues.

In the future -do: not to drink to this excess. Ginger can reduce nausea & upset stomach. You can drink slightly flattened ginger ale or nibble on crystallized ginger. Or pour boiling water over freshly sliced organic ginger & steep x 5 min in a covered pot. Sip.

Genetics and: your good fortune. A variable number of people, more in east Asia, have deficiency of an enzyme needed for metabolism of actelaldehyde, a product of alcohol. Accumulation of acetylaldehyde causing the symptoms you experience. Consider it your good fortune that you cannot take alcohol as alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever.
