A 39-year-old member asked:

how to tell if i am getting eczema on my face from getting waxed?

Dry Skin: Getting face waxed is likely causing localized skin dryness and irritation. Eczema in an adult is rare to occur just on the face. Try moisturizing with Vanicream, Cetaphil, or Aquaphor right after your waxing session to help protect your skin from excess irritation. If it continues to be a problem would try to limit the amount of times you get your face waxed. Could be irritant reaction to wax

Eczema has started to come on my face, how to heal?

Cortisone cream: Eczema can be acute or chronic and has multiple causes. You can try over the counter cortisone (1% hydrocortisone), but long-term use can thin the skin. Also, sometimes a rash around the mouth in women is perioral dermatitis, which may be worsened by cortisone and is treated with antibiotics.

A 22-year-old female asked:

I have eczema. What is Physiogel cream benefits for my face. Is it good?

Yes, but Expensive: Unlike most conventional moisturisers, physiogel contains ceramide and other physiological lipids that help replace moisture and repair the skin’s damaged lipid barriers. These ceramide moisturisers can be fairly expensive, but some patients get very good results. Make sure you are practicing good skin hygiene measures in addition to daily moisturization.

Is eczema known to spread? I was diagnosed and it was getting better but now I've noticed that it has spread considerably on my face.

Eczema Issues: Eczema can affect any part of your body, more common behind knees, on wrists, elbows, neck and face but if not well controlled can generalize. Make sure you are moisturizing daily with fragrant-free moisturizer like Vanicream, Eucerin or Cetaphil. Avoid long hot showers. Use Dove white bar soap. Treat eczema flares with topical corticosteroid creams/ointments. See Dermatologist or Allergist.
