Bacteria : Cause uti's. In women much more common. Drink plenty if water. And don't hold your urine. Unfortunately treatment is antibiotics. Which in turn can cause yeast infections. So tough cycle. I would see your doctor if having recurrent problems. May be some other issue. Also can be put on certain agents to help prevent

Yeast- diflucan (fluconazole): Terazol (terconazole) 3, otc yeast creams like monistat, for utis many differnet antibiotics your gyn can treat both and send urine and vaginal cultures out to see exactly which bateria and type of yeast you have.
