How healthy is bariatrics operation?

Bariatric surgery: I have several patients in my practice who have had various types of bariatric surgery and they all have problems with their iron levels and fat absorption. They have to get iron infusions pretty regularly. It is unfortunate, but that is my clinical experience as a primary care physician.

Quite safe: In experienced hands, the risks of WLS are actually very low. That being said, it's OK to ask your surgeon for his data, including his complication rates.
