Athlete's foot: It sounds like a bad case of tinea pedis or athletes foot. Topical antifungal cream and powder should help this along with keeping the foot dry.

Burning peeling skin: Sounds like you may have athletes feet especially if you have nail fungus if it is athletes feet which is a fungus infection of the skin than its usually easy to treat with OTC creams if you can't get it to go away see a podiatrist or a dermatologist. Sometimes it will cause itching as well. Yes its reversible if its a fungus infection.
