Arthritis work-up: It could be osteoarthritis which is simply the wear and tear type. It also could be an inflammatory arthritis such as Rheumatoid arthritis or Lupus or Psoriatic arthritis. You should get an x-ray and some bloodwork such as a rheumatoid factor, ANA-looking for lupus, ESR, TSH, and CBC at a minimum. This will provide your doctor a lot of information and will be a start in the workup of the knee pain.
