Canker medication: Call your physician and ask about both triamcinolone dental paste or kenalog in orabase. Pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) applied on a q-tip every 3-4 hours will help with the burning- also, in severe cases oral antiviral medication will work.

Immune system.: The strep infection usually is a secondary infection when your immune system in trouble. So balance of life and nutrition are important here. Sleep well and stress reduction normally will help. Take antibiotics if needed.

2 separate condition: 1. Canker sores are very common after tooth extraction. Canker sores are the most common oral lesions. Individual ulcers typically last 1-2 weeks. The condition is idiopathic (the cause is not known). 2. Strep throat is a highly contagious bacterial infection. If the "rapid strep" test positive the antibiotic treatment is warranted to avoid complications.
