Acne : It's very common to have acne at this age. If your skin is oily try to keep it clean and dry. Plenty of exercise and eat veges and fruits. Wash face frequently. Some local antibiotics or meds can help you. Please see your dr.

See a dermatologist: Meanwhile, try otc Benzoyl Peroxide Gel (cream). Ask for the lowest %. Keep it off any nice fabrics as it bleaches them (but does not bleach skin). It is drying and can be irritating. Acne is sometimes related to medicines, but is mostly a matter of hormones (puberty in your case) and is largely determined by heredity. It is not your diet, hygiene, or stress. Treatment of significant acne requires.

A 28-year-old member asked:

Ive heard that adding vitamins a and d to diet during pregnancy may help control skin itchiness and rashes. Is this true? How much should I take?

Be careful: The body does need vitamin a and d in pregnancy. However, vitamin a in high doses can cause cleft lip and palate in the baby. Your prenatal vitamin pill should have enough vitamin a. Many people are low in vitamin d. Your doctor can check your vit d level to see if you should take extra. The amount needed depends on the vitamin d level in your blood.

May reduce risk: Data on infant uti's in the 80's & 90's showed >90% of affected boys were uncircumcised. Much of this data was available because the infants were hospitalized. Some studies suggest a lower risk but not prevention of std's or aids. Carcinoma of the foreskin will not occur if it is removed, but the skin of the shaft remains available for cancerous change. The risk may be reduced but never eliminated.
