Lubriderm for skin: There are many very good lotions on the market. My patients seem to do better with ones that do not have perfumes and coloring agents in them. Lubriderm is one of my favorite lotions. Aveeno (oatmeal) products are also very useful for dry, itchy skin.

Cortisone cream: Topical cortisone cream (ie: cortaid, hydrocortisone), moisturizers containing anti-itch ingredients such as camphor, menthol, Lidocaine (ie: sarna, eucerin anti-itch spray, neutrogena anti-itch lotion). Also helpful to use aveeno oatmeal bath. And take antihistamines such as benadryl, (diphenhydramine) claritin, zyrtec, allegra. Eucerin cream: Eucerin cream before you towel dry after a shower. It is absorbed better on the moist skin, then gently pat the skin dry.
