I had bad heartburn last night and today I have a metal taste in my mouth. Is this normal?

Probably not: A funny taste the morning after having heartburn is not necessarily uncommon. However the description of a metal taste makes me a little concerned that there may be some blood present. I would touch base with your doctor, especially if this is something that is recurrent.
