A 38-year-old member asked:

how can therapists deal with patients who have antisocial personality disorder?

1 doctor answer4 doctors weighed in
Dr. Linda Callaghan
Addiction Medicine 53 years experience
Not good candidates.: People with antisocial personalities do not learn from their previous mistakes and therapy does not work. They do understand that for a criminal behavior, they have to be legally responsible. They have no remorse and they are sorry only that they got caught.

May be helpful: A sex therapist can be very helpful for couples struggling with having sex. Sometimes couples have infertility because they have trouble having sex. An infertility physician can do timed artificial insemination to help with conception, but sex therapy in addition to insemination would also be helpful so the couple can also have a healthy sexual relationship in addition to having a family.
