Remember?: Remember back to health class where you learned that it takes one to five days after sex for conception to occur. And that once conceived the female's body has no connection-physical or chemical-with the new fetus until it is big enough to be sharing blood and chemicals? That is about ten to fourteen days after conception. Thus, a missed period is the clue that is the most reliable. Test then.
