Stress related: Anxiety and stress can lead to tightening of the trapezius and elevator scapula muscle that will result in neck stiffness and pain in the upper back / chest area and occasional headache. Hot shower, neck exercises , and meditation or other relaxing techniques will help . If you have persistent numbness or other neurological symptoms please see your physician. Good luck.
