Reflux?Tendonitis?: The cause could be a kind of tendonitis at the juncture of the ribs with the chest bone. Pressure a this juncture should produce an increase in sharp pain. It could also be acid reflux. The former could be treated with ice and nsaids. The latter with agents to reduce acid in the stomach such as prilosec.
