YES THEY DO KILL: Of the 2 million or so deaths that occur each year in the us, it is estimated that about 480, 000 of them are directly connected to cigarettes, and about 5 million deaths worldwide. Of similar importance, there are at least 16 million people in the us who have smoking related diseases. Lung and head and neck cancer, other cancers, heart attack, stroke, bronchitis, emphysema only some of them.
