Talk with her : Anorexics control their eating because they feel the control little else. Find out about eating disorder clinics and/or doctors/psychologists who can treat the illness in your town. Call them, find out what insurance she has and ask about sliding scale to get a good therapist if insurance doesnt work. Its worth it and will save her life.

Schizophrenia often: manifests in late teen and young adult years. If your brother was given that Dx as a little child perhaps it was a different disorder such as autism. If your mom was given that Dx in her 50s, that too, may be something else, Since you are in your 30s chances of schizophrenia are lower. The best thing you can do is avoid developing an anxiety disorder or phobia by seeing a MH professional.
