Could be a floater: If you visualize a spot moving around in the vision, it may be a "floater", which is a particle in the vitreous, or jelly-like material that fills most of the eye. The question is where the floater came from. It is important to get an eye exam promptly with a new onset of floaters, as it could be from a retinal tear, detachment, hemorrhage, etc. It could also be affecting the retina directly.

A 34-year-old member asked:

When I blink, I see a black spot in the corner of my left eye. Should I be worried?

Maybe: This may signifiy a problem with the retina. When you blink it stresses the retina with rapid changes in light intensity and may uncover a weaker spot. Should be looked at with a dilated examination by an ophthalmologist.

I have a brown spot in my left eye. Will it go away or should I see the doctor?

Best to see your doc: Assuming this brown spot is on the cornea, it could be a stain or rust-ring from a metallic foreign body. See your ophthalmologist to give you a definite diagnosis and treatment plan.
A member asked:

I have what appear to be bubbles in my left eye.?

More information: Are you tlaking about bubbles on the surface of your eye? This can be caused by an infection, or by a reaction to something that got onto your eye, such as pollen. If you have a vision of bubbles, but there is nothing on the eyeball, this is a problem with your retina most likely and both problems could be an emergency. Please see your eye doctor asap.
